Learn as much as possible, as fast as possible

In past couple of months, I have been intrigued when I meet people who not just handle challenges effectively, but also triumph over them and lead by example. I have also met those who make erroneous decisions and act in a way that showcases lack of basic skills despite of being well-educated and well-traveled individuals. There are a number of reasons behind this distinction and one of them is 'Learning'.

Since past many years, I have interacted with and closely observed and learned from people from various professional backgrounds. Some of them are walking success stories and others are fighting life's most grueling failures with the hope of materializing their dreams. Although there are many lessons one can draw from them, but what tops the list is their ability to learn as fast as possible, and implement as soon as possible. This is a breed that welcomes failures. In fact, they never
perceive failures as an indicator of their weakening self worth, like most us usually do, for them there are only results. Results of what they did. What they did comes from what they knew and so, if the result is undesirable, they go back to learning zone, to fill in their loopholes. They learn what they missed at first and then they enter the arena with a renewed sense of awareness, a new set of skills and emerge with better strategies.

The way you perceive and experience the world around you, will never be the same with that the way someone else does. This means that you have something unique to offer, may be you can create associations from all your past experiences under a meaningful context and come up with an idea, powerful enough to solve a major social or economic problem that no one has ever thought of, or may be you can innovate an existing process or product that can revolutionize an entire industry and add enormous value to the lives of those people who will be the end users of that innovation.

I am a proponent of education, it is not just a tool that enlightens a society but also a force for reformation that transforms generations, but I am a believer a quote from Albert Einstein in which he defines education as the only thing that interferes with his learning.

I applaud UNESCO's vision with regards to the World Education Forum, representing its aim as providing equitable and inclusive quality education and lifelong learning for all by 2030 and its belief in "Transforming lives through education". But when it comes to developing countries like India, we need to really understand if education should be used to reform and develop the society or should we first reform the education system itself and then proceed in its dissemination.

Learn as much as possible as fast as possible and apply as quickly as possible. What you get at the end is only a result, do not title it as a failure of any kind. Seek feedback from your end results and begin anew.
